Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Cauldron Familiar, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Cauldron Familiar is a Magic: The Gathering deckbuilding copilot: you chat about rules questions, card interactions, or a decklist, and Cauldron Familiar replies using Claude, verifying every card it discusses against Scryfall's public card database before asserting anything about it. The service runs on Food — a per-conversation-turn balance. New accounts receive 100 Food for free. Cauldron Familiar is a freemium service: every account, whether or not it has ever purchased Food, also receives a small free Food top-up once per day if its balance has run out, so a free account is never permanently locked out — only limited, on any given day, to what that day's top-up covers until the next day's top-up arrives or more Food is purchased.

Food is purchased in one-time packs and never expires — no subscription, no monthly reset. All payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices are in CAD and don't include any applicable taxes, which are your responsibility.

Food is non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law. We don't offer refunds for unused Food or dissatisfaction with a specific reply, since AI output is inherently variable.

You may not use Cauldron Familiar for any unlawful purpose, or attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or the Scryfall/Anthropic APIs it relies on.

You retain ownership of the decklists and messages you send. We store your conversation history so you can pick a workshopping session back up later; you can delete any conversation at any time from the sidebar, which deletes it permanently.

Cauldron Familiar is provided "as is." Verifying a card against Scryfall confirms that card's real oracle text and legality — it does not guarantee that a suggestion, ruling interpretation, or deckbuilding opinion is correct or optimal. Always double-check rulings that matter for a real game. We make no guarantees about uptime.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
